Greetings friends! 

Well, as always, it has been far too long since I've given any sort of update, and boy has there been a lot that has happened since we made our move up to the Omaha area.  Kristin and I have really grown accustomed to living here.  There are so many positives of this town and so many blessings we've already experienced.  We are certainly excited about the opportunity to live here for a few years.

We have found a strong church community and are involved in a weekly Bible study with other young couples.  We've only met a few times together, but it has already been a great source of encouragement to us.  God has also put us in a leadership role with the "College and Career" class where I've been given an opportunity to put some of the weekly lessons together.  We just completed a 7-week series on the "one another's" of the Bible and fleshed out what authentic Christian community really looks like, especially in our culture.  We're also helping launch a small group that meets every other week for believers in our work environmets.  It has struggled getting off the ground so far, but we are confident God desires us to have this opportunity for other believers to join in authentic community together.  We just haven't found the people it was intended for just yet.

Work has been going well, I have just finished the academic portion of my training, and after the 4th of July, I will begin the flight phase of my training.  This will last a couple of months.  Once I finish this portion, I will go to my squadron and get ready for my first trip over seas; which will happen sometime near the end of this year or early next year.  Kristin has been working for the power company and has enjoyed her position in the training and safety department doing some data input/analysis, test proctoring, and other administrative type responsibilities.  It has definitely been challenging and a growing experience for both of us. 

In other news, we're looking to buy a home this fall, and are pretty excited about that opportunity.  The market out here doesn't seem to be quite as affordable as Indy's or even San Antonio's market, but it is pretty comparable.  We just won't be able to get as much or as new of a home as you would in the Indy area.  However, there are some nice older homes in really greats parts of town with lots of amenities close by.  Some of those many amenities of the area include an incredible trail system that we utilize a couple of times a week.  Just last week we did a 14 mile ride out to one of the two free lakes and back home again.  The zoo here is phenomonal.  There are also quite a few parks in the area.  Just yesterday, we went to the farmer's market in downtown Old Market and were able to buy some fresh veggies and meat--made me feel very European.  The local restaurant scene is also very alive here, giving us the opportunity to try a lot of the local flavor.  We're also beginning to discover a number of festivals, music venues, and parks for us to visit.
